” The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true. Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go. “

So far we have learned that these Jews understood that Jesus was referring to Himself only in everything He taught and said and was not including anyone nor anything else along with Him in His declarations about Himself.

This bothered these Jews as they accused Him of trying to be His own witness of Himself and bearing record of Himself supposedly without other witnesses as per their Law.

Did I say, their Law?

Yes I did.

Jesus said it to these Jews too!

Yes, Jesus said;

” your law ”

I received a forward recently and have received these kinds of forwards repeatedly.

I have even heard born again christians saying such things.

These are forwards circulating around from people with honest intentions but either do not know what the Bible says or do know, but reject what the Bible says.

I will try to finish up on this verse today.

The Greek word “ou me peripatese” translated ” shall not walk ” means go, be occupied with, walk.

The idea here is that anyone who has his or her focus on Jesus will be occupied with things concerning the Lord and not be pre-occupied with a sin that so easily besets us. Read the rest of this entry »
